Laimer & Stanišić knocked out

Two Bayern players saw their World Cup journeys end in the round of 32 on Thursday after Konrad Laimer's Austria and Josip Stanišić's Croatia both suffered defeat.

Laimer played the full 90 minutes as Austria went down 3-0 to Spain in Los Angeles. Mikel Oyarzabal bagged a brace either side of a Pedro Porro goal as the European champions progressed and Austria, who were competing in their first World Cup since 1998, saw their journey end in the round of 32.
