Lakers are trading Deandre Ayton to the Wizards

After the Los Angeles Lakers agreed to trade for center Walker Kessler on Wednesday, Deandre Ayton, their starting center this past season, looked like the odd man out. Some felt Ayton could make an excellent backup center, but there simply wasn't much playing time available for him.

On Friday, the Lakers ended up agreeing to trade Ayton to the Washington Wizards for guard Jaden Hardy and two second-round draft picks in 2031 and 2031, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
