Lanett woman arrested for identity, property theft

Auburn Police officials say 29-year-old India Mychelle Carlisle of Lanett was arrested on charges of theft of property and identity theft.
In Feb. 2026, a business in the 1500 block of Professional Pkwy in Auburn reported that someone stole several checks and fraudulently deposited them into a personal account.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAn investigation revealed Carlisle as the primary suspect and warrants were obtained for her arrest.
Carlisle was arrested on Saturday, July 25, taken into custody by Chambers County Sheriff's deputies, and transported to the Auburn Police Department for questioning.
She is currently being held in the Lee County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
