With all due respect to Galletti’s sources, recruiting Rodriguez remains unlikely based on the current evidence. Due to their shaky finances, the Biancocelesti have been restricted to a net-zero transfer market. Therefore, they would certainly struggle to offer a star like James a competitive salary.
Moreover, pursuing a veteran in the autumn of his career doesn’t align with the strategy adopted by Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani, who prefers to buy young (and often unsung) players who can later generate a profit for the club.
