Bayern Munich had one of the best breakout performances this season from Lennart Karl, who quickly became an interesting young player at the FIFA Club World Cup, to one of the most promising wonderkids in the world. That sort of talent isn’t made overnight at it is clear he had some big help in teammates and coaches in Munich this season.

Karl was recently asked on who he learns from the most by Bayern Munich’s magazine, Säbener 51. “Michael Olise is someone I particularly enjoy watching. He operates in similar spaces, is also left-footed, and has a composure on the ball that I can learn a lot from. With Jo [Kimmich] or Harry [Kane], for example, I’m impressed by what they do off the pitch. How they work in the gym, how seriously they take it, and how professional their whole daily routine is. That’s really impressive,” Karl told Säbener 51, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.

It would appear there wasn’t one clear answer for who he learns the most from. It would certainly be hard to argue against Olise being someone that is particularly fun to watch, and it is good to see that Kane and Kimmich are both leading by example around the facilities. Karl has shown some serious stuff at such a young age, but the question remains just how high is his ceiling?

For now it seems extremely high but we often see players hit their ceiling early, and fail to grow, but so far Karl doesn’t seem to be hitting that issue. Karl is now breaking through to the national team under Julian Nagelsmann and could even be a starter for Die Mannschaft this summer.
