18/07/2026DARAMSUQ (DAMASCUS) — The President of the Levantine National Council (LNC), Dr. Waddah Khoury, met with the Acting Head of the European Union Delegation to Syria, Ambassador Michael Ohnmacht, in a meeting aimed at strengthening dialogue and expanding institutional cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
The discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation between LNC and the European Union Delegation in support of initiatives that promote citizenship, strengthen civic participation, and encourage greater engagement among Syria’s diverse communities.
The two sides also explored opportunities for future collaboration across areas of shared interest, reflecting a broader effort to deepen communication between Syrian civil society actors and international partners during a period of political transition and institutional rebuilding.
Dr. Khoury and Ambassador Ohnmacht underscored the importance of maintaining constructive dialogue and exchanging views on current developments in Syria, emphasizing that continued engagement can contribute to advancing the public interest and fostering sustainable cooperation.
