The Detroit Lions made a shocking move Monday afternoon; they have decided to cut cornerback Terrion Arnold.

This move comes as a shock because it was announced Monday morning that a judge overseeing his case set his bond at $1 million, and he was free to go.

The judge said, “We’re early; we’re in the first quarter, but the state’s (case) just isn’t there at this point, so I can’t grant the state’s motion. “I do find probable cause based on all the stuff that you’ve argued so eloquently and put together.

“It’s complex, it’s complicated, and you and the detective have done a very good job of helping me understand at 10 pages of notes that I wrote throughout the testimony. I do believe I have an understanding of it. I understand your argument regarding motive. I understand everything, and I find there’s probable cause, but I’m going to set bond.”

Although Arnold denied the charges of robbery and kidnapping, the Lions still decided to cut him.

Arnold was a first-round draft pick out of Alabama in the 2024 NFL draft, but his time with the team has been marred by defensive struggles on the field and injuries off it.

Despite what happened in court this morning, the Lions apparently did not want Arnold's uncertain status to follow them into the 2026 season, so they ripped the band-aid.

The question now for the Lions is, who will they replace Arnold with on the defensive side of the ball?
