Lions signing rookie safety off Steelers' practice squad

Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions are signing safety Bishop Fitzgerald off the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad.

Fitzgerald, 23, is a 5-foot-11, 201-pound rookie safety out of USC that initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans. After the Titans waived Fitzgerald in its 53-man roster cuts, the Steelers scooped Fitzgerald up for their practice squad.
