LOCAL ROUNDUP: Rockers win 1, lose 2 at S. Maryland

WALDORF, Md. — The High Point Rockers won 12-3 in five innings Friday before falling 13-12 in 13 innings Saturday and 6-1 on Sunday against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in Atlantic League baseball at Regency Furniture Stadium.

On Friday, Luke Napleton had three hits — including two home runs — and five RBIs for the Rockers, who scored seven in the fourth. Ivan Melendez added two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs, while Nolan Watson had three hits and two RBIs. Matt Solter earned the pitching win, striking out five in five innings.
