Longhorns star Colin Simmons named Wuerffel Trophy semifinalist

While Colin Simmons has made headlines for his play on the field, he is also getting recognition for his impact in the community. On Tuesday, the Longhorns star was named a semifinalist for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy. Each year, the trophy is given to the player who best combines exemplary service with leadership and performance on and off the field.

Tuesday's honor marks the first time that Simmons has earned a spot on the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and has been selected as a semifinalist for the award. If he wins, he would join a special group of program alumni that includes Michael Taaffe and Sam Echo.
