Louisiana State University football has released in-state opponents that are tabbed for future matchups on the team’s upcoming schedules. The Northwestern State University Demons, Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, Southern University Jaguars, and Tulane Green Wave will all face the Tigers within the next four years.

Northwestern State, a member of the Southland Conference, is set to face the Tigers next season for the first time since 2019. The Demons have never defeated the Tigers in nine prior meetings, being shut out in seven of those games.

Louisiana-Monroe also has never beaten LSU, but have only played in four games, most recently in a 14-27 loss in 2021. The Warhawks, part of the Sun Belt Conference, will play the Tigers in 2028.

Joining the 28’ nonconference slate is the Southern University Jaguars. The famed HBCU recently faced LSU on the gridiron for the first time in program history in 2022. The cross-town opponent fell to a 65-17 loss but provided an energy-filled environment both on the field and with their fans in the stands. The Jaguars are a member of the SWAC and will look to even the series history in the upcoming game.

The final future game announced by LSU is against the Tulane Green Wave in 2030. By far, the most anticipated matchup for local fans as the schools will square off for the first time since 2009. The Green Wave and Tigers actually have a lengthy series history that began all the way back in 1893.

Tulane, although having a losing record of 23-68-7, is the only one of the four schools with at least one victory versus the purple and gold. The Tigers have won the previous 18 contests, but with the Green Wave’s recent success as a member of the American Conference, this game will be circled by many as uptown New Orleans hopes to cement its claim as the best football program in the state of Louisiana.
