LSU Baseball Transfer Portal Tracker | Tigers getting active

LSU baseball is already active in the transfer portal. LSU head coach Jay Johnson and the Tigers are expected to be aggressive after LSU missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011.

Last year, LSU signed a handful of transfers, but the Tigers' class was not ranked among the best in college baseball. I expect this year to be different. LSU's already secured two commitments, both from transfers ranked top-150 in the class.

LSU has several needs. LSU's pitching staff ranked near the bottom of the SEC in most key categories, struggling to prevent runs and issuing far too many walks. At the plate, LSU failed to consistently deliver quality at-bats.

LSU is set to lose key contributors such as outfielders Jake Brown and Derek Curiel, along with shortstop Steven Milam. All three players were multiyear contributors and won't be easy to replace.

We'll track every LSU baseball transfer portal addition here.

Landon Hood, Pitcher, Gonzaga

LSU secured a top arm with the addition of ex-Gonzaga pitcher Landon Hood. The right-hander enjoyed a breakout campaign with Gonzaga in 2026.

Hood appeared in 16 games and made four starts, tossing 54.1 innings with a 2.48 ERA. He stands at 6-foot-3 and features a strong fastball/change-up combination. Hood's fastball sits in the upper 90s. Hood posted a strong strikeout-to-walk ratio, striking out 78 while walking 21.

Hood's arrival will immediately upgrade the talent level on LSU's pitching staff, and gives the Tigers a dynamic and versatile arm who isn't draft eligible until 2028.

Dawson Park, Shortstop, Texas State

Park was LSU's first position player addition of the portal cycle and figures to replace Steven Milam at shortstop. Per 64Analytics, Park is the No. 46-ranked transfer in the portal. He spent two years at Texas State, where he played in 98 games and made 93 starts. Park totaled 89 hits and scored 47 runs in his Bobcat career.

Park hit .301 with a .575 slugging. He smashed 13 homers while driving in 52 runs and stealing nine bases. Park's strikeout rate was nearing 25% in 2025, which is a slight concern, but the .300 average paired with the power makes up for the swing and miss trait.
