Max Eberl delighted to have Bayern Munich contract extended

After Bayern Munich's supervisory board meeting earlier this week, it was announced that the club has extended the contracts of board member for sport Ma Eberl, sporting director Christoph Freund, and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. It had become increasingly clear in the buildup to the meeting that all three would be given extensions, but now pen has been put to paper and the continuity, stability, and steadiness within the club's front office remains intact. The trio of officials have done excellent work since they've come in the door at a time when the club was really restructuring the front office following the dismissals of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić; not too far removed from the club having to navigate their way through some financial loses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
For Eberl, as recently as just a few months ago, there was some uncertainty regarding his future. It was not a guarantee that the club would offer him a contract extension and there was a feeling that he still needed to prove himself, which he has clearly done in the eyes of the supervisory board.
