France superstar Kylian Mbappé scored in the match for third place against England on Saturday to equal Lionel Messi's tally of most goal at World Cups.

They both now have 21 goals, but Mbappé needed only 22 games, while Messi needed 33 matches.

Mbappé's goal, however, was of little value for his team, who were down 4-1 after his effort in the 48th minute.

Ahead of the final between Argentina and Spain on Sunday, Mbappé is one goal ahead of Messi in the race for the tournament's Golden Boot.
