Mets Daily Prospect Report, 8/3/26: Is this goodbye?
Early on, Syracuse had a solid lead, but that all blew up when Joe Jacques loaded up the bases to begin the fifth and Ben Simon subsequently allowed all of those runs and then some to score, turning a 5-2 lead into a 7-5 deficit. Luckily for Syracuse, the offense came roaring back in the top of the sixth, with Christopher Morel blasting a two-out, three-run homer to put the Mets back on top. The homer was the third baseman's second of the ballgame and he would go yard a third time in the ninth for a three-homer, 6 RBI afternoon.
