Mexico teen Gilberto Mora starts in World Cup match

Gilberto Mora, the 17-year-old phenom from Mexico, was in the starting XI for Mexico when it took on Ecuador in the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match was delayed for an hour because of rain and lightning at Estadio Azteca, but it did start at 8 p.m. MT/9 p.m. CT.
