Mizzou set for Top 25 match up on the road

Did you watch Mizzou barely scrape a win against Troy and think, "Not only should this team be ranked, they should get a bump up in the rankings"? Congrats, you're a college football ranking voter.

Mizzou played poor football and barely managed to beat out Troy on Saturday, yet AP voters moved them up a spot this week from 20th to 19th overall. The AP also tagged Mississippi State as the 24th-ranked team, meaning this coming weekend's game is now a Top 25 match up. The Tigers haven't beaten a Top 25 opponent since 2024 when they beat No. 24 Boston College – hey, number 24! – so Saturday's match up is a nice way to get back on the board against ranked opponents. It would also be a massive boost for a team that has looked unconvincing at times, yet still holds out hope for a program-first CFP bid.
