Welcome to the last week in June, folks!

The NHL Draft is in the rearview mirror, with several new faces in the fold for the Bruins (both via the draft and via trade).

We’ve got all kinds of trade winds swirling across the NHL, plus the B’s begin Development Camp today.

Here come the kids

Fresh off of adding seven new skaters to the organization via Friday’s and Saturday’s NHL Draft, the Bruins will begin their 2026 Development Camp today at Warrior Arena.

Boston College’s Dean Letourneau is likely the skater fans will be watching most closely, but it will be a good chance to get a look at several other players, including some of those drafted just this weekend.

While it’s not clear (yet) exactly who from the 2026 draft class will be in attendance, Don Sweeney said “the vast majority” of those selected will participate.

Camp will continue through Thursday, with a mixture of on-ice drills/scrimmages and off-ice activities.

The Red Sox, in the midst of another wonderful, uplifting season, celebrated Olympians and Paralympians from Team USA prior to Sunday night’s game against the New York Yankees.

In attendance? Charlie McAvoy and Jeremy Swayman, of course.

Given his luck, I’m surprised McAvoy didn’t someone get a baseball to the face while warming up.

While there were plenty of moves made around the draft, there’s still a ton of uncertainty surrounding some big NHL names as we head toward free agency.

Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t remember another offseason that had such a high volume of both actual trades and trade rumors involving such big names.

Brady Tkachuk already forced a move to Florida, and while that move got the biggest headlines, other names that have been dealt include Bowen Byram, Pavel Dorofeyev, Mason MacTavish, and Olen Zellweger.

Plus, you have the trade-and-sign (opposite of a sign-and-trade, of course) moves for Alex Tuch and John Carlson, who hasn’t signed with Carolina as of me writing this, but that’s a formality.

And THEN there’s the ongoing Dylan Larkin saga, news that Columbus is likely going to have to move Zach Werenski, the Jason Roberston merry-go-round, whatever is happening with Connor Hellebuyck…it’s chaos.

It’s been an entertaining start to the summer, to say the least.
