NC State is hosting a junior college big man this week who could add some useful depth to the Wolfpack’s roster. Shah Hall is coming off a productive season at Shelton State Community College in which he averaged 9.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in an … uncertain number of minutes per game (Shelton State’s participation stats are all messed up).

Hall signed with UAB in the spring but asked for his release a few weeks ago, and with good reason, apparently: he seems now to have his pick of several high-major programs looking to add a big late in the process. He was at Arkansas last week and after visiting NC State is also supposed to go to Mississippi State and Mississippi.

He looks like he has the potential to contribute some hustle minutes off the bench—provide rim protection, take care of the glass, maybe give you a putback or two.
