Nebraska tops MSU 31-13 in Big Ten opener

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Big Ten play got off to a rough start for Michigan State football on Saturday, as the Spartans fell to Nebraska 31-13 at Spartan Stadium. MSU committed 5 penalties for a loss of 60 yards, and had three separate turnovers.

"We've just got to play more disciplined," said head coach Pat Fitzgerald. "The amount of penalties and areas where we're just not executing clean enough is on me, it's my responsibility, and like I told the guys after the game, I believe in them and we're gonna stick together and get to work on getting those things fixed and corrected, but the key thing is we gotta stick together."
