New Celtics center makes surprising declaration ahead of season

The Celtics strengthened their big man rotation in a big way this offseason with the signing of Mitchell Robinson. The former Knicks center, however, has struggled with injury issues throughout his tenure in New York, including playing just 108 total games over the past three seasons.
Robinson showed some good progress on the health front during the 2025-26 season, playing 60 games overall, his highest total since the 2021-22 season. The Knicks tried to keep some of the physical onus off the 27-year-old by not playing him on both ends of any back-to-back sets.
