NFL Opening Week Draws 19.5M Viewers, Down 13%

With additional games added to its roster,the first week of the new NFL season posted a 13% drop in overall average viewership per game to 19.5 million, according to Nielsen, versus a year ago.

Still, that average was higher than theNFL's overall regular-season average for 2025, which came in at 18.7 million.
