Nike shows why LSU is “Just Different”
Last December, Nike and LSU announced an NIL partnership that launched with 10 student-athletes across several athletic programs at the university. That announcement featured two football players. Just yesterday, Nike announced it would expand that partnership by adding nine more football players for the upcoming season.
The inaugural Blue Ribbon Elite Football roster will feature Caden Durham, Harlem Berry, DJ Pickett, Husan Longstreet, Jayce Brown, Trey’Dez Green, Jordan Seaton, Princewill Umanmielen, Whit Weeks, Ty Benefield, and true freshman Lamar Brown. LSU leads the nation with the most players selected, with 11, while Alabama is next with eight.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNike didn’t stop with the Blue Ribbon Elite program, though. The company also announced a separate Nike Football NIL roster. This roster features not only current college football players but also elite high school recruits.

Current rising senior and LSU quarterback commit Peyton “Pop” Houston was included in that announcement. LSU continues to showcase the strength of its brand, and partnerships like these with Nike are another reflection of that.
So far, Nike has only announced the Blue Ribbon Elite football roster. That means there are still additional LSU student-athletes from other sports who are expected to be announced as part of the Blue Ribbon Elite program in the future.
