North Country Man Sentenced For Wife’s Murder

PLATTSBURGH, NY (WFFF/WVNY) — A North Country man was sentenced to the maximum, 25 years to life, Tuesday, for the murder of his wife, last fall.

Keith Henry pleaded guilty, in March, for the murder of his wife, Chloe, last fall. Police say he shot her five times, inside a vehicle, in Peru, and in front of their two children. Then, with the help of his co-defendent, Heaven Dashnaw, he dumped Chloe's body in Chazy. Dashnaw went to trial last week, which ended with a guilty verdict for several charges. She is scheduled for sentencing in late August. Henry avoided a trial with a plea deal, admitting guilt for murder in the second degree, concealment of a human corpse, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. During Tuesday's sentencing hearing, several of Chloe's friends and family members addressed the court to describe the kind of person Chloe was, and how she will be missed by so many.

"On October 21, 2025, my life changed forever. I got the call saying my friend, Chloe, was found dead. After days searching and doing everything we could, hearing that news broke me," said friend, Emilee Neal.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. My daughter did not deserve none of this," said Richard Rinn, Chloe's father.

"She was a beautiful, loyal, kind young woman, a loving daughter and friend, and above all, a protective and affectionate mother." said friend, Loretta Garrow

No one can overlook how this happened. There were 5 bullets directed at Chloe, in the presence of her children, Said Judge Favreau. "Some of the speakers have spoken to no remorse, no humanity, I think Ms. Garrow said. I'm imposing the maximum sentence allowed, which is an indeterminate sentence minimum which shall be 25 years, maximum – life. Honestly, if it could be more… it should be."

On top of his sentence for murder, Henry was also sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years on the concealment of a corpse charge, and 364 days in county jail for each of the endangering the welfare of a child charges. All sentences will run concurrently.Henry was also ordered to pay just over $16,000 in fines, fees and restitution, including Chloe's funeral expenses.There is also an order of protection stating Henry cannot have contact with his children until 2054, at the earliest.
