Notre Dame broke the Shillelagh Trophy after win over Purdue

This is one of those moments as a parent of children… seems all too familiar. You know — you don't let your kids do something, and then you let them do something, and then after a time or two they break some stuff.

Historically, Notre Dame doesn't bring any of its rivalry trophies to the field. Instead, they wait in the locker room for the team to celebrate by themselves. I have often voiced my opinion that they should bring these unique pieces of hardware out onto the field every time — because why not? It's college football and it's supposed to be fun and weird and have things that are fun and weird.
