Nvidia (NVDA, Financials) and Hyundai Motor are reportedly in final talks with South Korean officials to build an artificial intelligence research center in the country.
The proposed site is tied to the Saemangeum reclamation project on South Korea's southwest coast, according to the report. The center would add to Nvidia's growing network of AI research and development hubs in Asia.
The talks appear to build on a 2025 agreement between Nvidia and Hyundai, which included plans for GPU supply and joint AI sites in South Korea.
For Hyundai, the partnership could support AI work tied to vehicles, robotics, manufacturing and future mobility. For Nvidia, it would strengthen ties with another major industrial customer as AI expands beyond data centers.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to visit South Korea this week and meet Hyundai Chair Euisun Chung, along with other business leaders.
For investors, the story shows how Nvidia is pushing AI deeper into transportation and industrial technology.
The next catalyst will be whether the companies confirm the project and provide details on timing, investment size and scope.
