Official | Abakar Sylla leaves Strasbourg

Abakar Sylla (23) has left RC Strasbourg Alsace on a permanent deal, as confirmed by the Ligue 1 club on Friday night.

Sylla joined Strasbourg from Club Brugge three years ago for a significant €20m fee. However, the defender never truly established himself as a reliable option under successive managers. He spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Nantes as the Loire-based club suffered relegation to Ligue 2. The Ivory Coast international (six caps) returned to Le Racing this summer but has not featured under new manager Hugo Oliveira.
