An Ohio State club football player was called up to the Division I team this week.

On July 7, the club football team announced on social media that defensive back Jackson Gula had become a walk-on ahead of the 2026 season.

A native of Streetsboro in northeast Ohio, Gula received Second Team National Club Football Association All-American honors in his freshman season with the club team. As a safety, he recorded 29 tackles, eight pass breakups and three interceptions in six games during the club team's national-championship-winning season.
