Now 95 games into their season, the 2026 Orioles are still mostly sputtering. They haven’t been able to click and put together a team that meets or exceeds fans hopes for them. They are running out of time to really make a run. They may need to play at something like a .600 clip for the remainder of the season to end up going anywhere we want them to go in October.

In this week’s survey, I asked fans very simply: Can they do it? Are they going to make the postseason? I find that optimism tends to have a greater representation in these surveys than I expect, but it seems this team has managed to beat even that out of the voting masses:

That’s a crushing majority against belief in the Orioles making the postseason. It’s no surprise! Depending on which projection you like for postseason odds, the O’s currently have chances somewhere in the realm of 9-16%. Only 12% of fans thinking they’ll make it is right in line with that. It’s not that they can’t do it. They just probably won’t, because among other things, they haven’t yet won more than three games in a row. They are running out of time to change their trajectory before it’s too late.
