32 mins: Arsenal win another corner, which is confidently claimed by Paris keeper Mylene Chavas.

31 mins: Caldentey is able to continue, but can’t help her defence as Paris FC break at pace again – but Toloba shoots high and wide with options available to her.

29 mins: An injury worry for Arsenal, as Caldentey goes down holding her left ankle. She’s going off for treatment as her teammates take a moment to regroup.

27 mins: Viens picks the ball up in the Arsenal area, but loses control before teammates can get forward to support her.

Roma 0-1 Barcelona: Caroline Graham Hansen has put the holders ahead in Italy.

26 mins: Lisa Baum, probably Arsenal’s brightest attacking spark so far, tries to cut beyond left-back Liaigre but runs out of space.

25 mins: A better delivery this time, and Russo sends a header bouncing across goal … but wide of the far post.

24 mins: Stanway takes a corner, which is out-swinging but out-swings all the way across the penalty area. They get another, though, when Chavas fails to keep the ball in play from a back-pass.

22 mins: It’s been an unconvincing start for Arsenal, who are struggling to undo Paris’ low block and looking a little vulnerable on the break.

20 mins: Another opening for the hosts as Evelyne Viens gallops in behind the Arsenal defence, but sends her shot from an angle straight at Misa, who shoulders it away.

19 mins: Arsenal win a free kick which Baum lifts into the area towards Williamson, who can’t make a clean connection.

17 mins: A warning for Arsenal here, as Paris right-back N’Dongala gets forward and drills in a cross that just evades Viens and Mateo in the middle.

15 mins: Another tussle between Stanway and Le Moguedec, who stays down holding her ankle after slipping on the turf. She looks to be OK to continue, for now.

12 mins: Stanway is penalised for a foul on Le Moguedec in midfield, and has a few words for the referee.

10 mins: That creates a chance for Paris to counter, with captain and key threat Clara Mateo picking the ball up on the left … but her pass inside is intercepted.

9 mins: Emily Fox wins the ball in midfield, moves forward and sees her long-range shot closed down …

7 mins: Arsenal win another corner and play it short, before Cooney Cross’ ball into the middle bobbles through the penalty area.

5 mins: Lisa Baum lifts a useful cross towards Caldentey, who can’t get enough power on her header from an awkward angle.

3 mins: Arsenal earn an early corner, but the hosts are able to clear it away comfortably.

2 mins: Mariam Toloba bursts forward down the left for Paris FC, and her near-post effort is saved and held by Misa.

We are under way at the Stade Jean-Bouin, where the away fans are making themselves heard early on.

There are a couple of other 7.45pm kick-offs, with Barcelona taking on the Italian champions, Roma, while Juventus visit Swedish title-winners Häcken. We’ll endeavour to keep you updated on those games, too.

ESPN and Disney+ have copped plenty of flak for their pre-game show, The Hangout, which launched before the first round of games. Judging by tonight, they’ve made things feel a little more professional (there’s no dog this time) and the guests know their stuff even if they are – gasp! – content creators. There have been technical troubles with the pitchside reporters, though.

Renée Slegers makes just two changes from the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, with Misa Rodriguez in goal ahead of Anneke Borbe, while Lotte Wubben-Moy replaces Steph Catley in defence. Catley, like Chloe Kelly, is injured and did not travel for the game.
