Patriots vs. Jaguars inactives: Defense down a second starter

The New England Patriots defense will be down a second starter on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After the team already ruled out outside linebacker Dre'Mont Jones heading into the weekend because of a shoulder injury, safety Craig Woodson has been deactivated ahead of the Week 3 contest.

Woodson, like Jones, hurt his shoulder during last week's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. With him out and third safety Dell Pettus on injured reserve, the Patriots will only have one of their top three players at the position available: Kevin Byard, who will be joined by Jaylen Reed and practice squad elevation Mike Brown on the game day roster.
