Would be nice if the offense did something with runners in scoring position, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. I think we’d all just take a few hits period.

On to the links.

  • Even with the trade deadline approaching, there isn’t much that can help a team whose OBP is as bad as the Phillies is ($).

  • When the Phillies played the Dodgers, the difference in what the little things that were done by both teams was stark ($).

  • Rafael Marchan needed to go on the injured list, so Payton Henry gets the call to back up J.T. Realmuto ($). He can’t be worse, right?

  • There’s a desire to add some offense at the deadline, but the players they have really need to start doing something.

  • This trade deadline, the Nationals will be both buyers and sellers ($). How does one say “delusional” in multiple languages?

  • For a team that needs all the pitching it can get, seeing Max Meyer shut down for two weeks won’t help the Marlins much.

  • The Pirates are still in contention for a wild card spot and are focusing in on adding to the bullpen to help get them there.
