Players the Saints Could Sign From Free Agency
Caleb YaccarinoSun, June 7, 2026 at 4:22 PM UTC·2 min readThe New Orleans Saints roster has seen so many upgrades walk through the door this offseason, but this team is still not ready to truly compete. That was always going to be a long shot in year 1, and it's doubtful they can make further additions to do so, but setting up this team for as much success as possible in 2026 should be the right move.
After the offense and defense have been completely rejuvenated through the draft and free agency, most of the spots on the roster are filled, but some more improvements could be made. The trade market is really where the Saints could find high-quality starters, but free agency is more about depth and finding the team backup options. Still, some great players can be brought in who become extremely important players for this season, so let's look at some options for New Orleans.

Cam Jordan has been an important part of this team for his entire career, and although he has been more inconsistent later into his career, his leadership and talent he still adds to the defense make him an upgrade over the depth the Saints have.
The leadership is the main part of this move. Yes, on the field, it will be great to have Jordan, especially in a pretty decent group, but getting back his leadership for this young team could do wonders this season.
And Jordan will be able to play his entire career on the Saints.

Pocic is a starting-level player in the NFL, but so far, that interest has been missing. So, he may be willing to accept a backup job, especially one that could turn into a starting spot somewhere in the season. Picic is still 30 years old and could be a player the Saints even let leave next season and end up getting a compensatory pick for.
What makes this addition even more interesting is where Pocic went to college. The offensive lineman went to LSU for college, so this move would also be a bit of a homecoming.
