Although PSG secured their second consecutive UEFA Champions League title with a win over Arsenal on penalties last week, there is expected to be plenty of outgoings this summer.

For example, forwards Kang-in Lee and Goncao Ramos have both been heavily linked with moves away in order to get more game time. To a lesser extent, there have also been similar links regarding Bradley Barcola.

Well, there are another couple to add to that list now. Indeed, as journalist RomainCG75 is reporting that Aston Villa want Lucas Chevalier, and are very close to signing Ibrahim Mbaye.

Wow, very interesting links. The English side are very happy with their number one Emiliano Martinez. That said, the 33-year old was close to leaving the club last summer, so perhaps he could this year instead?

It has to be something like that anyway. There would be no point in Chevalier leaving PSG to be number two elsewhere. He’d be leaving because he isn’t number one for Luis Enrique’s side. It cost him a World Cup place. He could just stay if he was going to be a number two.

As for Mbaye, that’s also interesting. Like with some of the aforementioned players, he isn’t a regular starter at PSG. In the 25/26 season, he accumulated 1126 minutes of football, the equivalent of 12.5 full games. He played 358 minutes for Senegal in that time, despite only switching allegiance from France in November.

However, his case feels a little different to the others. Whilst Lee is 25, Ramos 24, Barcola 23 and Chevalier 24, the Senegalese winegeris only 18. His time will come. There is no rush just yet.

That’s not to say a move to Villa would be a bad thing, not at all, Emery is a brilliant coach. Just that, he doesn’t necessarily have to leave PSG just yet. Development isn’t linear, but compare his current body of work at just 18 to some of his team mates, and it will stack up very well indeed.

So, certainly one to keep an eye on, likewise for Chevalier and all of the other names. It feels like there won't be too many signings made to improve the XI this summer, but if these players all leave, they will certainly have to be replaced with depth for the bench, no doubt about that. Let's see what happens over the coming weeks and months ahead.
