Reading Women 7-2 Fleet Town: Match Report

Reading Women made an emphatic return to the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Sunday, and in some style, with a statement 7-2 victory against inaugural tier five visitors Fleet Town.

In a case of clearly not reading the script, the visitors surprised the 500+ crowd by taking the lead in the Royals' new backyard. Just before half-time though, Nat Cowell became Reading's first player since Jessie Stapleton, against Durham in April 2024, to get her name on the scoresheet at the SCL, to set the stage for what was to be an explosive second half for the Royals.
