This may not be the most timely piece of news with Milan Momcilovic making the local rounds and Mitch Barnhart retiring after today, but this is worth reporting. After being projected to Kentucky at 247 Sports just two weeks ago, Nikola Kusturica is now being projected to another school.

On Tuesday, Travis Barham of 247 Sports logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of the UCLA Bruins to land Kusturica.

This is not the worst thing. Does it sting?

Yes, a little. But it’s not the end of the world. As it stands, Kentucky has a really good roster. It could become a great roster if the pieces fall into place. Kusturica going to UCLA isn’t going to impact Kentucky that much, as he wasn’t expected to have a major role in Year 1.

Kusturica has to play two seasons of college basketball before being eligible to play in the NBA. He is currently playing for Serbia in the FIBA U-17 World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. The 6-foot-8 wing is averaging 18 points and five rebounds per game on 48.1% shooting through two World Cup games.

This would have been an interesting addition for Kentucky, but not one that would set the world on fire next season. Kentucky’s roster is still in good shape, especially with Momcilovic.
