Red Sox prospect from 2025 draft bashes 10th home run
Red Sox prospect Mason White blasted his 10th home run of the season in High-A Greenville’s 7-4 win over Rome on Saturday.
The 22-year-old second baseman/shortstop is batting .295 with a .394 on-base percentage, .570 slugging percentage and .964 OPS in 42 games (175 plate appearances) in his first full professional season with Greenville. In addition to his 10 home runs, he has nine doubles, one triple, 27 RBIs, 22 walks and 40 strikeouts.

“He was a guy we were pumped to get,” then-Red Sox director of amateur scouting Devin Pearson said in July 2025. “I think the defense, he’s been really good at shortstop. Cut down on his whiff rate a lot, has just continued to get better. Gets the ball in the air to the pull side with some power. Just fits what we do here well. And especially at a premium position, he was a guy we didn’t want to miss on.”

~ Jack Winnay, a 2025 13th-round pick put of Wake Forest, also hit his 10th home run for Greenville. The right-handed hitting third baseman is batting .242 with a .433 on-base percentage, .464 slugging percentage and .897 OPS. He has four doubles, 26 RBIs, 47 walks and 43 strikeouts in 46 games (208 plate appearances).
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement~ Kyson Witherspoon, Boston’s 2025 first-round pick out of Oklahoma, allowed one run in 5 ⅓ innings. He gave up four hits and one walk while striking out six. The one run came on a solo homer.
The 21-year-old righty has a 5.05 ERA in 10 starts but has pitched much better of late. He has allowed just two runs in his last three starts (14 ⅔ innings).
~ Enddy Azocar went 2 for 5 out of the leadoff spot for Greenville. The 19-year-old from Venezuela is 12 for 40 (.300) in nine games since his promotion to Greenville. The 19-year-old center fielder is batting .296 with a .345 on-base percentage, .529 slugging percentage, .874 OPS, seven home runs, five triples and 17 RBIs in 48 games (223 plate appearances) between Low-A Salem and Greenville.
MLB Pipeline ranks him Boston’s No. 10 prospect. Boston signed him out of Venezuela to a $40,000 bonus on Jan. 15, 2024.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement~ Red Sox setup man Garrett Whitlock (knee) pitched one scoreless inning in a rehab outing for Triple-A Worcester. He allowed one hit and two walks while striking out one. He threw 21 pitches, 10 strikes and induced three swings and misses. He topped out at 97 mph.
