Red Wings Need Extra Time

COLUMBUS- In their first preseason game of the year the Detroit Red Wings found themselves falling in the shootout to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Conor Garland had the sole shootout goal over Michal Postava in a 1-0 Blue Jackets victory

Neither team looked particularly prepared to be there tonight, though with a shortened practice schedule ahead of the games, chemistry problems were bound to be part of tonight's action.
