SEATTLE – The Cincinnati Reds expect to get at least one player – maybe two – back from the injured list during the next homestand (July 27-Aug. 6)
Outfielder Blake Dunn (elbow) and infielder Matt McLain (calf) were scheduled to finish some rehab work with the club July 22 in Seattle, then travel to Toledo to start a minor-league rehab assignments when the rest of the team heads to St. Louis to continue its road trip.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDunn, who sprained his right elbow on a throw from center to the plate four weeks ago, is scheduled to DH two out of three days for Triple-A Louisville, starting July 23 in Toledo, before being evaluated for his fitness to start playing in the field.
McLain, who strained his left calf July 7, is scheduled to start his rehab assignment July 24 with Louisville and should be ready on a quicker timeline than Dunn, potentially ready to return as early as the first series back home, against Cleveland.

McLain has hit just .190 this season with a .622 OPS.
