Just hours after trading for former Boston Celtics All-NBA wing Jaylen Brown, the Philadelphia 76ers are showing a desire to bring in another superstar.

The 76ers are expressing interest in signing free agent and ex-Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, per The Athletic's Tony Jones.

"The Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest in acquiring free agent forward LeBron James, a league source who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe ongoing deliberations told The Athletic," Jones wrote.

This is a major development, as the 76ers have already evolved into a title favorite after acquiring Brown from the Celtics. Many agree the Sixers fleeced the Celtics by only parting ways with Paul George and draft capital to add Brown.

If James is landed by Philadelphia, the Sixers could roll out a loaded starting lineup of Tyrese Maxey, V.J. Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid. That starting five has four players capable of making an All-NBA Team in any given season.

James, even at age 41, is still that level of player, as he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds on 51.5% shooting in 60 games last season.

Power forward is the lone spot in the 76ers' starting lineup that isn't locked in, as free agent signing and ex-Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade is currently occupying the position.

Conveniently, the '4' is one of James' primary positions.

What will partially determine if James comes to Philadelphia is his willingness to sign for a less-than-deserving contract. Assuming the 22-time All-Star is comfortable playing for a veteran's minimum or a deal close to it, the 76ers are a realistic destination for him.

Mike Gansey and company are already doing phenomenal work, but adding James to the mix would put the 76ers over the top.
