Rockets forward Amen Thompson addresses shooting doubts

Few storylines surrounding the Houston Rockets have made more news than the development of Amen Thompson's jump shot. A three-year pro to this point, Thompson has put fans in awe when it comes to his speed, instincts and unreal athleticism. Last year, the former No. 4 overall pick enjoyed a career-best campaign, averaging 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks.

Although he averaged a career-high in points per game last season, Rockets supporters are eager to see an improvement in his 3-point shooting, having shot 21.6% from beyond the arc last year and 21.9% for his career. In the 3-point-heavy style of the modern NBA, Thompson could find another gear if his 3-point percentage were to hover around league average. Thompson addressed the remarks made about his shooting struggles earlier this week, saying, "They got to talk about something. I feel like I'm really good at a lot of things. I'm really impactful on the court. It's fun to do that, I guess—pick on that one thing. But I work on it every day. I know I'm going to be a good shooter. So, it doesn't matter to me."
