Russian forces have struck several industrial facilities across Ukraine, as Moscow continues its targeted campaign against Kyiv’s manufacturing infrastructure.

Russian attacks on 10 Ukrainian regions killed at least three people, injured dozens and damaged homes and infrastructure, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday.

Two people were killed in the city of Zaporizhzhia in southeastern Ukraine and one in Zelenskyy’s native city of Kryvyi Rih, the president said on Telegram.

People were injured in the Odesa region, Kryvyi Rih and Kyiv, he added.

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry said Russian forces hit an Interpipe Steel complex in the central city of Dnipro and several plants in Kryvyi Rih.

The Russian Defence Ministry said overnight strikes hit infrastructure at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region “used for unloading and storing military supplies”, as well as two dry-cargo vessels and a tugboat.

Putin undecided on G20 visit

The attacks come as Zelenskyy was quoted as saying by German broadcaster Deutsche Welle that he would be willing to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit in the United States in December – if both were invited.

Moscow is yet to decide whether Putin will go to Miami, Interfax reported, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said the possibility of Putin attending the summit “has not even been discussed” in Moscow.

Commenting on Zelenskyy’s remarks, Peskov reiterated Moscow’s long-standing position that if the Ukrainian leader wants to meet his Russian counterpart, he should come to Moscow.

Russia’s attack on Chornomorsk came after Ukraine sent drones to attack industrial facilities in Russia’s Samara region, Interfax said, citing regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces downed 230 Ukrainian drones overnight in more than a dozen Russian regions, as well as in Crimea and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.

Ilya Sukhikh, mayor of the city of Togliatti in the Samara region, said one person was injured and several residential buildings damaged.

In the city of Taganrog in the Rostov region, four commercial properties were set ablaze, said Mayor Svetlana Kambulova, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

Since its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has systematically attacked Ukraine’s power grid, defence factories and logistics hubs to disrupt arms production, cut off civilian electricity and heating, and undermine supply networks.

Ukraine has launched its own aggressive long-range campaign against Russia’s industrial infrastructure, including dozens of oil refineries, disrupting Russia’s war revenue and causing domestic fuel shortages.

Deadly attacks in Kyiv

On Friday, at least two people were killed in Russian strikes on two petrol stations in Kyiv.

Russia also hit fuel stations in Kyiv on Thursday, suggesting a new campaign focused on civilian areas in the capital.

Ukraine carried out drone attacks on Russia, killing one in the Kursk region, according to local officials.

In Russia’s Belgorod region, a frequent target of Ukrainian forces, one person died in a Ukrainian drone attack, local officials said. The head of Russian-controlled parts of the eastern Donetsk region said two local gas company employees were killed in a drone attack there.

In Volgograd, two people were injured in a Ukrainian missile attack that hit two residential buildings and damaged an industrial facility, which local authorities did not identify.
