- In the neighbouring Sumy region, 10 people were wounded in a drone attack on a market, while in southern Ukraine, a Russian strike hit the Chornomorets football stadium in Odessa, causing damage to the stadium and injuring one woman.
- Izyum, located around 30 kilometres from the front line, had previously come under Russian control following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, but was liberated in September 2022.
Two people have been killed and four wounded in a Russian rocket attack on the city of Izyum in eastern Ukraine, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram on Friday.
A fire covering 400 square metres was being extinguished, he said.
According to the Izyum military administration, Russian forces used multiple rocket launchers firing cluster munitions, which are particularly dangerous for civilians.

Central Odessa football stadium hit
In southern Ukraine, a Russian strike hit the Chornomorets football stadium - home to the top-flight club of the same name - in the centre of the port city of Odessa.
A hole was torn in the stadium roof and the stands were damaged, one day before a cup match was due to be played there. One woman was wounded, according to regional authorities.
Ukraine's Air Force had warned of incoming Russian missiles before the attack.
