Saint Germanos Scouts hold circus in Jaramana, Syria

JARAMANA, Syria — Saint Germanos Scouts in Jaramana, Daramsuq (Damascus), held a circus featuring a range of activities for children and adults across 33 stations, as well as a buffet, face-painting activities, and a prize corner.

According to Leader Kamel Aghabi, who was overseeing the circus, this was the fifth edition of the event, organized by the youth of Jaramana Scouts across its various branches. He said the event is designed for all ages, from young children to adults, and is intended to offer more than games and prizes.

Aghabi described the kermis as an immersive experience through which visitors can learn more about Jaramana Scouts, the people involved in the organization and the work they carry out.

Organizers spent three weeks preparing the event. It featured approximately 33 games, with each station designed for a particular age group or type of visitor. Other sections included a buffet, a gift corner, and face-painting activities.

Leader Hanna Kusa said Saint Germanos Scouts has continued its mission since its founding in 1992 through a range of activities targeting both its members and the wider community.

The group includes the Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Flower Bouquet, Boy Scout and Girl Guide troops at beginner and advanced levels, as well as the Rover and Ranger clans, the leadership council and the coordination council.

The activities of Saint Germanos Scouts extend beyond entertainment, with a focus on developing both the scouting and spiritual dimensions of its members. These include scout camps and participation in religious activities, such as holiday rounds and musical performances.

According to the organizers, these activities share a common goal: serving the church and the community while contributing to the building of Syria.
