Saudi Arabia says it intercepted Houthi missile targeting Riyadh

Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh at dawn on Saturday, according to the Saudi-led coalition, which also said attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Bisha, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu were thwarted. The interception came after Saudi Arabia issued emergency alerts across the kingdom, with residents in Riyadh reporting an explosion and a large plume of black smoke near King Khalid International Airport.
