Schalke are reportedly in talks with former Germany full-back Robin Gosens about a return into the Bundesliga.

The Bild paper and Sky TV said that Schalke want to bolster their ranks with the 32-year-old after returning into the top flight from three seasons in the second division.

Gosens is at Serie A club Fiorentina where he has a contract until 2028. He would likely have to accept a pay cut at Schalke but has said in the past that Schalke are the club closest to his heart.

Gosens has spent the majority of his career in the Netherlands and Italy, but has one season in the Bundesliga, at Union Berlin in 2023-24.
