Scottie Scheffler, the world's No. 1 golfer, will be back in Memphis next month for the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The 2024 FedExCup winner announced his commitment on July 9.

Scheffler told reporters he plans to take two weeks off ahead of the Aug. 12-16 tournament at TPC Southwind, which is the first of the three-event FedExCup Playoffs and will consist of the top 70 golfers in the FedExCup standings. Scheffler is the current leader in those standings, holding a nearly 500-point lead over Matt Fitzpatrick.

Scheffler, who has never won in Memphis, tied for third place (with Tommy Fleetwood) at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship — which was won by Justin Rose. The 30-year-old has one win on Tour this season (20 in his career, including four majors), but he is the favorite to win the 3M Open (July 23-26).

So far, Scheffler is the only golfer to confirm their plans to play in the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The full formal qualifying field is expected to be set following the Wyndham Championship (Aug. 6-9).
