NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning Valley Scrappers completed a three-game sweep of the West Virginia Black Bears with a 10-5 win during MLB Draft League action on Saturday.

After falling behind 1-0, the Scrappers immediately responded in the bottom of the 1st with a Zion Williams two-run home run to take a 2-1 lead.

Mahoning Valley would pile up 7 runs through the first three innings, highlighted by a Maddox Mihalakis RBI single in the 2nd inning and a three-run home run in the bottom of the 3rd.

With the win, the Scrappers improve to 5-9 during the second half and 18-25 overall. Next, they hit the road to take on the State College Spikes on Sunday, July 26-28.

Mahoning Valley returns to Eastwood on Wednesday, July 29 for a three-game series against the Williamsport Crosscutters.
