Seahawks ranked high in ESPN’s FPI preseason rankings
How do the Seattle Seahawks measure up against the other teams in the NFL prior to the start of 2026 NFL season?
ESPN released its NFL Football Power Index on Wednesday, giving the Seahawks the fourth-best chance to win the Super Bowl next season at seven percent, as well as ranking the Seahawks No. 4 out of all 32 teams in the league in its preseason predictive ratings, predicated on regular season win totals by oddsmakers as well as quarterback and special teams strength, with a +3.6 rating.

Darnold has thrown for over 4,000 yards in each of the last two seasons and established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL last season. The difference in value between him and Seahawks backup QB Drew Lock is significant, but Lock is an experienced second-stringer who has 28 starts under his belt across 41 games played in his career, as well as a respectable track record, having thrown for nearly 3,000 yards in 2020, with 2,933 yards.
Seattle has a great many offensive weapons to support Darnold next season, including AP Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and rookie Jadarian Price. Seattle had one of the highest-scoring special teams units in the league in 2025. The Seahawks ranked No. 2 in the NFL in field goals made last season with 41. Seahawks kicker Jason Myers led the NFL in total points scored last season with 171, which also ranks No. 3 all-time on the NFL’s single-season points scored list.
With a blistering defense riddled with All-Pro performers Leonard Williams, Ernest Jones IV and Devon Witherspoon in all three lines of defense, the Seahawks have one of the most complete teams in the league at full strength, making them one of the teams with the best chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy next season.
