The summer league has ended for the Philadelphia 76ers after they finished 2-3 out in Las Vegas. They won their first two games, but then ended on a 3-game skid. However, wins and losses do not matter out in Vegas. It's all about how the young players look and how they can adjust to the NBA game after to prepare for what's to come.

For some, the NBA isn't their path. Some used the summer league to earn opportunities elsewhere and that's what happened for undrafted guard Dante Maddox Jr. He averaged 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 35.5% from deep. He showed off his knack for scoring the ball and being able to knock down the 3-pointer on high volume for the Sixers while in Las Vegas. His work earned him a deal overseas to play in Italy for Olimpia Milano.

Maddox showed an ability to score the ball in bunches as he scored in double figures in all five games he played in Vegas. When teams would double and blitz Labaron Philon Jr., it was Maddox who was able to step up and knock down open looks. There are some flaws in his game that need to be ironed out overseas--such as defensively and in terms of shot selection--but it's obvious that he has a scorer's mentality that could eventually earn him an opportunity in the NBA.
